About 100 years ago Rev. Arthur Tompson Michell M.A. F.S.A. (1852-1923), an amateur genealogist, transcribed a number of Michell and Mitchell
wills in Exeter and other parts.
Since then, during World War II, many of these wills were lost during a German bombing raid on Exeter.
François Gordon Michell (Italy) has kindly loaned these transcripts to me for the purpose of promulgating their contents to all interested parties.
The following wills may now be the only copies left in existence.
They are too tedious to fully transcribe but I have made a scanned copy of each of Arthur's original transcriptions which may be viewed on request.
(and if you have the time to type it up and send me a copy, I would be grateful).
You should also check "Documents" on the menu to the left where you will find other fully transcribed Michell wills.
