		Hi I'm Ian Mitchell, I was born in 1948 and live in Littleham, a small village near Bideford in North Devon, England, with my wife Wendy. Our only son Robert, now in his early 30's, is working in the computer software industry in Crawley. With his partner Claire they have three wonderful boys, Linus, (See his website) Gabriel, (See his website) and Asa (See his website) I have an older brother, Christopher, and a younger sister Pat. Although semi-retired, I still earn a small crust by teaching people how to sail yachts. This I do mainly in the summer although if anyone wants me to teach them in the Caribbean or any other warmer clime, just send me an E Mail. I have been tracing my own Mitchell tree over the last 20 years or so and have been very fortunate that my paternal Mitchell family have not moved out of the North Devon area in the last 400 years (in fact I still live within 6 miles of my oldest Mitchell ancestor). Having traced this Mitchell line back as far as I could (about 1600ish) and not being too interested in the female lines, I started collecting Mitchell data from over all of North Devon in order to try and link other Mitchell families to mine. This has meant collecting Mitchell (and Michell) data from all over the south west of England. It has led to the creation of an extensive database of some 16,000 Mitchell events of Baptisms, Marriages, Deaths and census reports. I have also put together about 100 Mitchell trees, some only 4 or 5 generations, others bigger.
